Weigh in Wednesday

Well.. at least I am averaging ONE post per week? Ha!

Work + wedding planning + family stuff is officially on a new level of intense. Just when I think work can’t get any busier- it does! I think that I need to quit talking about it already.

Anyway.. diving right in to some link ups:

Pretty Strong Medicine
I don’t have a picture, but my weight this morning was
NOT the number that I was looking for, but I wasn’t all the surprised. Saturday was an all out party for a friend’s 30th birthday and there was a lot of drinking involved. I’m angry with myself for losing sight of my goals, but it was also good because it was a nice little slap in the face. Nothing like a huge gain to make you realize that “Hey! That wasn’t very healthy!”
Other than Saturday night I have been eating pretty well, so I think a lot of it is water weight thankfully.. I can’t wait to work my butt of this week so that I can see a better number NEXT week!
Soo.. on to the “official” goals/ goal recap:
Fitnasty for Life
1.) Track EVERY bite, EVERY day. No more justifications for eating crappy food either.
2.) Get to the gym a minimum of three days this week.
3.) Drink 100oz of water per day, EVERYDAY!
Fail! I’m keeping these until I get better at them (sorry for the repetitive posts..). I need to seriously work on the justifying (hello 30th birthday) and the gym time.
As far as my plan of action of how to improve?
I bought 10 classes to a women’s “boxing” gym- and once I start going they all have to be used within 30 days. This means that I will need to be there a minimum of 2x per week. I bought the deal for the same friend who just turned 30, so I have some built in accountability there. The other huge plus is the fact that it is literally on my way home and I have to schedule appointments to go. (It’s a 45 minute circuit “class”). I’m really gonna have a hard time blowing this off/justifying just going home. HA!
I’m planning on writing a wedding planning progress post.. so be on the look out for that soon. Sorry for all the dull diet stuff!
I hope everyone has a great second half of the week!!!

Weigh In Wednesday

Yes, I do realize that it’s Friday (TGIF!!).. I’m running late like usual (in blog land only, thankfully). Ha!

Pretty Strong Medicine
I hopped on the scale on Wednesday morning and it kept showing my weird error codes. After getting on and off a few times and getting the same results I gave up and continued about my morning. After coffee and a Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich I went back upstairs to get ready.. and I decided to give to give the scale another try. That in it’s self is different for me, as I usually weigh myself before I have eaten, and naked. Someone please tell me I’m not the only one who does this?? Anyway, imagine my surprise when I got on the scale and it said 218.8. I weighed myself later and work and the numbers were about the same (little different, thanks to being dressed).
I’m sure that a lot of it was water weight, but whatever- I will take it!
And now on to goals!
Fitnasty for Life
Lets review last weeks, shall we?
1.) Track EVERY bite, EVERY day. No more justifications for eating crappy food either.
2.) Get to the gym a minimum of three days this week.
3.) Drink 100oz of water per day, EVERYDAY!
…. I wasn’t 100% successful in ANY of these… but I did a lot better last week than I normally do, so I guess that is a small success. Work was extra, extra crazy and to be honest I am just glad that I made it through the week alive. I’m going to keep the same goals for this up coming week, as I think that they were some pretty good ones.
Thank you everyone for you supportive comments on my last post. I truly apperciate each and everyone of them!
I hope that everyone has a great weekend!!

Weigh In Wednesday

This is such a hard one to post… In fact it’s been pre-written for days because I had to talk myself into actually putting it out there.

Weigh In Wednesday
I saw that my scale picture was completely illegible and I’m not taking another. Ha!

There is the ugly truth. Turns out this is what happens when you pretend you can eat/drink whatever you want and have no repercussions. Funny how I KNOW this isn’t how the world works, and yet I keep doing it anyway.

To try to help remedy this situation I am going to formally participate in Carolyn’s link up (2 days late, sorry!).

Fitnasty for Life

I’ve been mentally keeping track of my goals, but you can see how well that’s been going…

1.) Track EVERY bite, EVERY day. No more justifications for eating crappy food either. Yes, my bff is going to be in town for a couple days… and I have to feed her and her husband. They can eat some healthy food, it won’t kill them. (Nothing too crazy, don’t worry). There just won’t be the usual week long pizza-fest.

(Ew that’s gross to even admit to :-/)

2.) Get to the gym a minimum of three days this week. (Plus participate in the run this weekend). I’ve been doing this for the past couple weeks, but this week will be a little weird since we are having 24/7 house guests for 3-4 nights.

3.) Drink 100oz of water per day, EVERYDAY!

Simple enough, right?

What are your goals this week?

Weigh In Wedneday- It’s Been Awhile, and It Ain’t Pretty

What the freak is up with my format?!?! ahhh!!
Weigh In Wedneday

Well, there is no beating around the bush on this one.

I think the title pretty much sums it up.

I attribute it to vacation eating & drinking.

As much as I hate seeing this number I am kind of glad.

I have some in-my-face proof I can’t eat whatever I want and stay the same weight.

I do think some of this is water weight though, because I didn’t go THAT far over my calories.

So hopefully I will have a much better number next Wednesday!

Moving on.. anyone ever have a day where nothing seems to go right?

(Stupid question, who hasn’t??)

That’s today for me. Blah.

As I mentioned we celebrated T’s birthday in Colorado. It was fun, but obviously his family wasn’t there so it wasn’t a complete celebration.

I talked to the server (who is also a friend) at the grill where we like to hang out and asked her if she would help me put something together for him. She agreed, and was helping me spread the word to all the people we know who frequent the grill. I was also going to bring by a cake earlier in the day & decorate to have that as part of the surprise.

On Saturday we are going to go look at wedding venues and I’m gonna be dragging Trent around the valley for most of the day. I was planning on asking him if we could stop by the grill for a quick drink on the way home- but making sure he knew I didn’t want to stay long. The plan was stop in and have everyone there to surprise him. They also have a band (not a usual thing) that night, so I thought that would be extra fun as well.

I texted T’s mom and dad to make sure that they were going to be in town and to invite them. His Dad responded right away and loved the idea. His mom responded and said talk to his sister because she’s trying to plan something for herself, T, and T’s mom for that day. (They all have August birthdays).

I texted SIL and of course she doesn’t like the idea. So instead she says how about we do dinner at your house or T’s mom’s house on Friday?

1- T and I will both be lucky to be off by 8.

2- What the heck?! Invite yourself over much??

As of right now nothing is resolved and I am so frustrated. I know this is nothing in the scheme of things but it’s just one more annoyance today.

It also doesn’t help that I’m already annoyed at SIL.. The short of the story is she recently bought a house.. I sell real estate, but she chose to go with another Realtor. Okay.. She also decided the appropriate time to tell me that they were going with someone else was on my birthday. (Surrounded by guests- at the party..) Her explanation was that she wanted to go with her friend who is part time and affiliated with Dave Ramsey.

Okay.. (I went online and anyone can be an ELP with him by the way..) But what really bothered me the most about the whole situation is she told her parents that she didn’t go with me because she had a good friend who was a Realtor as well, SO SHE DECIDED TO HIRE A 3RD PARTY!!!

Um. Lier!!!

I know I just need to get over it, but dang.

So,so, SO irritating.

I ended up just telling T the plan and now he’s annoyed too.

So now I just feel bad for bothering him with it.. uhg.

Thank goodness today marks the halfway point to the week.

Someone else PLEASE tell me some in law stories to make me feel better!!

Please & thank you 🙂

Weigh In Wednesday

Pretty Strong Medicine
Woohoo for making it to Wednesday in good shape! Now to make it through the weekend..
No (accurate) scale picture today.
photo-2 (2)
I wish this were correct.
Can you tell this dog is my freaking shadow??
I woke up late this morning, which always seems to put me in a rather rushed, grouchy mood.
So I hopped out of bed, brushed my teeth, washed my face and started to get dressed and then realized that I needed to snap a picture.
Attempt one- 197. something- Okay cool- try to take a pic.. nope, totally illegible.
Attempt two- 195.2- sweet, but I don’t think so..
Attempt three- 198.something. ahg!
At that point I was late and frustrated, so I’m just going to go with 197.something.
197.something is obviously not a number I love, but I will certainly go with it.
I weighed in on Saturday or Sunday and it was TWO OH TWO! UHG!
Definitely backslid from my previous progress over my (2 week) birthday vacation. But I have worked out hard so far this week, ate well, and drank water like it was my job so yay small steps!
Moral of the story? Pretty sure my scale needs new batteries..
How did everyone else’s weigh in go?

Weigh in Wednesday and Leibster Award

First up Weigh in Wednesday…

Pretty Strong Medicine
You guys don’t even know how much I wanted to pretend I forgot to take a picture….
I know I went a little lot crazy last week, but I know I didn’t go 1.4 pounds crazy (approx 5250 cals over)..
either way this gave me some strong motivation to keep myself in check this (long) weekend..
Moving on to bigger and better things.

Carolyn over at Fitnasty nominated me for my first ever award yesterday. I am so beyond excited!

Thanks, Carolyn!

Here are the rules:

1. Each person must post 11 things about themselves.
2. Answer the questions that the tagger set for you plus create 11 questions for the people you’ve tagged to answer.
3. Choose 11 people (with 200 followers or less) and link them in your post.
4. Go to their page and tell them.
5. No tag backs!

So first, 11 random facts about me:

1.) I am an only child.

2.) I have been blessed with some amazing friends, and wouldn’t trade them for the world. Not once has being an only child been lonely.

Small sample of some of my favorite people in the world 🙂

3.) I studied Marketing at ASU’s W.P. School of business. Approximately a year before graduation I had a freak out about if that was what I really wanted to do for the rest of my life. So I did what any sane already stressed to the max human would do and took on a minor. I picked Women & Gender studies and LOVED it. Those were my “fun” classes and the saving grace for my sanity. It was beyond fun to go from the formal, straight laced-ness of the business school to the hippie dippie-ness of the social science school.

4.) I have traveled to fourteen different countries- and I would love to travel more. Spain and St. Thomas were my favorite destinations though.

On a Gondola in Venice and on top of the Eiffel tower.. Spain and Island pictures are on another computer!

5.) I have no tattoos thanks to my Dad. I think there are some amazing ones out there, but my Dad practically told me he would disown me if I ever got one. He also doesn’t like piercings.. but they aren’t permanent and I have currently have 8 of those :).

6.) I am obsessed with animals. I have 2 cats and 3 dogs. Unfortunately only 3 live with me, but the others are still my babies. Introduce me to animal and I will likely have a new best friend.

Accurate. Thanks Pinterest!

7.) I thought my favorite color was purple.. but after decorating a house I looked around and saw purple was no where to be found. I think I subconsciously avoided it for T’s sake :-).

8.) Losing my Grandma was probably the hardest thing that ever happened to me, but it made me reevaluate a lot and appreciate family time and the simple things a lot more.

9.) I LOVE summertime! If I could have sunlight 16 hours a day year around I would be the most productive person ever. I can’t wake up when it’s dark for the life of me! It’s gotten to the point that I have a coffee pot IN my bedroom.

10.) I met my soul mate young. I was an idiot and it took me awhile to figure it out.. but we’re getting married September 20th, 2014!

11.) I love most kinds of music, but predominately listen to country. I can sing just about every popular (and not so popular) song from the past 30 years.

Fitnasty’s Questions:

1. Beach, mountains or city? That tough, but I am going to have to go with mountains. We take a yearly trip to Crested Butte, Colorado that’s coming up in a couple weeks and I’m dying of excitement!! Can.not.wait!! It’s beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, and everything you could ever ask for.

Can’t wait for our daily walks down the mountain!!

2. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? I would love to see either Greece or Ireland!

3. What did you want to be when you were a kid? I wanted to be a marine biologist. Now I realized I am equal parts fascinated and horrified by the ocean. It’s soo big.. there are things in there humans have never seen before… haha

4. What’s your guilty pleasure TV show? Trash TV.. Real Housewives of OC, Teen Mom, and practically anything on TLC.

5. What would you last meal be?
Oh man.. Sushi.. and my moms crock pot mac and cheese and her pot roast… there’s a reason I’m working on getting healthier here ya know..

6. What’s your favorite season? SUMMER!!!

7. What’s the best piece of blogger advice that you’ve ever received? That’s a hard one.. lots of bloggers have been generous with their time and knowledge. I don’t know!

8. What’s your favorite book of all time? Another almost impossible question. I LOVE the Harry Potter books, love Mary Roach, love Jeannette Walls.. I could go on lol

9. What’s your favorite internet meme?
Grumpy cat. T’s coworker personalizes them to people we know and she’s a total rockstar at it. Hilarious!

10. Who do you look up to?

My Grandpa. He lived though the depression, worked his ass off to keep his family alive, worked his ass off to make something of himself for himself and his family later in life, had a partner that royally screwed him and had to rebuild everything he worked for again at age 50- and did it! (Holy run on sentence).

11. What 2 famous people (dead or alive) would you love to have dinner with?

I would love to have dinner with Reba and Toby Keith. I’m such a hick.. I ❤ them both though.

Questions to Answer:

1.) What’s you favorite way to spend your free time?

2.) How many siblings do you have?

3.) What food could you never eat again and be completely okay with it?

4.) Whats your dream vacation?

5.) Do you consider yourself an animal person?

6.) How/where did you meet your best friend?

7.) What is your earliest memory?

8.) Which month is your favorite and why?

9.) What two people (dead or alive) would you like to have dinner with? (Sorry Carolyn, I’m stealing this one!)

10.) What is your favorite thing to read about on blogs?

11.) Whats your favorite holiday?

And my Nominees are:

And with that I just realized I read a lot of “bigger” blogs..

Pretty Strong Medicine
This is my first time participating in this..
If this won’t provide accountability I don’t know what will.
Week 1-
If I put it sideways maybe no one can read it?
This number is about 2 pounds higher than what I have been seeing for the past couple weeks. I attribute that to three things- Going out to eat last night (stayed in calories, but I’m sure there was extra sodium), starting running again (I always see plus a couple pounds when I start again.. weird, and lastly the ever so lovely PMS.
But in good news (as I mentioned) I started running again. I have ran about 13 miles in the past two days.
Pretty much all the running I talk about is inside the air conditioned gym on a dreadmill. I haven’t really mastered outside running(mainly due to lack of practice I think) and its been approximately 115 degrees here during the day so I am not really looking to take that on any time soon. My mile times have actually been pretty fast considering I was always the last one in after running my middle school miles. Right now I am running about a 9:55 mile. Not fast, but I am totally okay with it. Now is just about getting it done, preferably without dying in the process :).
This was thoroughly scary, but now I think I officially have a starting point!
How did everyone else do last week?
