Weigh in Wednesday

Well.. at least I am averaging ONE post per week? Ha!

Work + wedding planning + family stuff is officially on a new level of intense. Just when I think work can’t get any busier- it does! I think that I need to quit talking about it already.

Anyway.. diving right in to some link ups:

Pretty Strong Medicine
I don’t have a picture, but my weight this morning was
{225.8}
NOT the number that I was looking for, but I wasn’t all the surprised. Saturday was an all out party for a friend’s 30th birthday and there was a lot of drinking involved. I’m angry with myself for losing sight of my goals, but it was also good because it was a nice little slap in the face. Nothing like a huge gain to make you realize that “Hey! That wasn’t very healthy!”
Other than Saturday night I have been eating pretty well, so I think a lot of it is water weight thankfully.. I can’t wait to work my butt of this week so that I can see a better number NEXT week!
Soo.. on to the “official” goals/ goal recap:
Fitnasty for Life
1.) Track EVERY bite, EVERY day. No more justifications for eating crappy food either.
2.) Get to the gym a minimum of three days this week.
3.) Drink 100oz of water per day, EVERYDAY!
Fail! I’m keeping these until I get better at them (sorry for the repetitive posts..). I need to seriously work on the justifying (hello 30th birthday) and the gym time.
As far as my plan of action of how to improve?
I bought 10 classes to a women’s “boxing” gym- and once I start going they all have to be used within 30 days. This means that I will need to be there a minimum of 2x per week. I bought the deal for the same friend who just turned 30, so I have some built in accountability there. The other huge plus is the fact that it is literally on my way home and I have to schedule appointments to go. (It’s a 45 minute circuit “class”). I’m really gonna have a hard time blowing this off/justifying just going home. HA!

I’m planning on writing a wedding planning progress post.. so be on the look out for that soon. Sorry for all the dull diet stuff!
I hope everyone has a great second half of the week!!!

Weigh In Wednesday

Yes, I do realize that it’s Friday (TGIF!!).. I’m running late like usual (in blog land only, thankfully). Ha!

Pretty Strong Medicine
I hopped on the scale on Wednesday morning and it kept showing my weird error codes. After getting on and off a few times and getting the same results I gave up and continued about my morning. After coffee and a Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich I went back upstairs to get ready.. and I decided to give to give the scale another try. That in it’s self is different for me, as I usually weigh myself before I have eaten, and naked. Someone please tell me I’m not the only one who does this?? Anyway, imagine my surprise when I got on the scale and it said 218.8. I weighed myself later and work and the numbers were about the same (little different, thanks to being dressed).
I’m sure that a lot of it was water weight, but whatever- I will take it!
And now on to goals!
Fitnasty for Life
Lets review last weeks, shall we?
1.) Track EVERY bite, EVERY day. No more justifications for eating crappy food either.
2.) Get to the gym a minimum of three days this week.
3.) Drink 100oz of water per day, EVERYDAY!
…. I wasn’t 100% successful in ANY of these… but I did a lot better last week than I normally do, so I guess that is a small success. Work was extra, extra crazy and to be honest I am just glad that I made it through the week alive. I’m going to keep the same goals for this up coming week, as I think that they were some pretty good ones.
Thank you everyone for you supportive comments on my last post. I truly apperciate each and everyone of them!
I hope that everyone has a great weekend!!

Weigh In Wednesday

This is such a hard one to post… In fact it’s been pre-written for days because I had to talk myself into actually putting it out there.

Weigh In Wednesday
{221.6}
I saw that my scale picture was completely illegible and I’m not taking another. Ha!

There is the ugly truth. Turns out this is what happens when you pretend you can eat/drink whatever you want and have no repercussions. Funny how I KNOW this isn’t how the world works, and yet I keep doing it anyway.

To try to help remedy this situation I am going to formally participate in Carolyn’s link up (2 days late, sorry!).

Fitnasty for Life

I’ve been mentally keeping track of my goals, but you can see how well that’s been going…

1.) Track EVERY bite, EVERY day. No more justifications for eating crappy food either. Yes, my bff is going to be in town for a couple days… and I have to feed her and her husband. They can eat some healthy food, it won’t kill them. (Nothing too crazy, don’t worry). There just won’t be the usual week long pizza-fest.

(Ew that’s gross to even admit to :-/)

2.) Get to the gym a minimum of three days this week. (Plus participate in the run this weekend). I’ve been doing this for the past couple weeks, but this week will be a little weird since we are having 24/7 house guests for 3-4 nights.

3.) Drink 100oz of water per day, EVERYDAY!

Simple enough, right?

What are your goals this week?

Five on Friday!

As usual.. sorry for the long lapse. Life happens… and it also happens that everyone I’ve ever met in my life is apparently born at the end of January/ early February.

Onward to Five on Friday!

1.) I had a really goofy schedule today and I ended up stopping by my parents house on my way to work. This little guy was all by himself, so I brought him in to the office with me.

photophoto-1

Lori is gonna be PISSED when she figures out that she had to stay home and Mo was in her territory! haha!

2.) As I mentioned- I stopped at my parents house on my way into the office. When I moved out of my parents house (15ish months ago) I purposely left some clothes behind. I figured I have plenty and their house is midway to work + I spend a fair amount of time there so I may need an extra outfit at some point. (This has saved me a few times!) Unfortunately I have taken clothes.. but not brought them back. When I got to my parents I found a shirt that I could wear to work, but no pants. I was pretty desperate so I went and looked through so old clothes that I had in the extra bedroom.  I found a pair of brand new American Eagle jeans (tags still on!) that had some how made it down there. The only way I can think that they made them down was that they were a gift that was too small and I couldn’t return them. BUT they fit now!! Woohoo FREE new jeans!!

3.) I woke up this morning to a super overcast day.. Grandpa’s party is tomorrow and it’s OUTSIDE.. insert freak out. We have 100+ RSVPed too, so it’s not like we can really just move it inside to the house.

photo-2

LOVE Arizona sunsets..

I just took the above picture a few minutes ago. I think the clouds are breaking up! Grandpa is SO EXCITED for his party, and I am so excited for him. Fingers crossed everything is perfect tomorrow.

4.) One of the guy’s recovered the service truck! The jerks who stole it took a lot of the expensive unique parts that it had on it off.. but it’s back! I really didn’t think that anything would come back. I also love that it was an employee who found it… yay for watchful eyes at Circle K!

5.) This devil of a cold is finally leaving my system! I can’t remember the last time that I’ve been sick for this long… 3.5 weeks and counting. My mom told me that the nurse at her doctors office told her that it’s been hanging around for a month on average. Ick! That is so not okay stupid cold germs!

Happy weekend friends! I hope that it’s a great one!

I’m Back- Liebster + Weekly Goals Week 1

Hey blogland.. it’s been a long time. Sorry about that. As usual I promise to try to do better.. I have so many things to get done that I kind of just feel that I am failing at them all.

Sooo for 2014 I have decided to give up… SLEEP.

Just kidding, kind of.

I have a ton of stuff that I want to write about/document that has happened over the last couple months. It may be a strange holiday blast from the past around here for a bit, so feel free to skip over those posts. I know that I’m over the holidays, so I can imagine that you all are too. Buuut like I said, I want to document them!

Lauren from Another Mom Another Blog was kind enough to nominate me for a Liebster so I am going to jump back into blogging by answering her questions. Carolyn nominated me for a Leibster some months back, so if you’re curious about that you can check it out here. I am just going to answer Lauren’s questions because I am lazy like that. 🙂

1. What’s the meaning behind your blog name?

Well I started this blog to document wedding planning and my goal to run 1000 miles in 2012. I ran 500 mines in the last six months of 2011, so I thought it would be neat to run 1000 in 2012. Too bad I completely burnt myself out on running in 2011 though.. Also, I tend to get TOO nostalgic at times and live in the past more than I should. Hence “another mile, another memory”. Plus it’s a lyric from a Dierks Bentley song, and I just love him. 🙂

2. If you could be any animal, what would you be?

Oh man! That is such a great question. I think I would want to be something aquatic. I love the water.. a dolphin would be cool. They are super smart, intuitive and playful. Who wouldn’t want to be all those things?

3. What’s your biggest pet peeve?

I have a lot.. I think I am more easily annoyed than a lot of people. (Aren’t I so loveable?). I really hate bad drivers and when T picks at his nails with his teeth though. He handles money all day..EWW!

4. What’s your dream car?

Another great question!! I am such a Chevy/ GM girl. I LOVE my SRX, but I would also love the truck from this post as a nice weekend ride for up at the cabin ;-).

photo-7 (2)

If I had to pick something besides a GM I would probably pick a VW Beetle- the body style before the current one- or an Audi sports car.

5. What do you enjoy the most about blogging?

The fact that it forces me to take a little time out for myself? haha no, I absolutely adore the fact that I have had the opportunity to meet some amazing women from all over North America.

6. What is your favorite breed of dog (or cat if you’re a cat person)?

I love both cats and dogs, and really most animals (not reptiles or bugs though!) but if I had to pick I would have to say Border Collie. What a surprise, right? I have wanted a border Collie since I was 12 years old and Lori is everything that I could dream of. She was housebroken at 6 weeks– you tell me that she isn’t a genius?!

photo (2)

I work in a pretty crappy part of town (for one of my jobs) and Lorelei has picked up an awesome new habit.. If someone she doesn’t like (usually guys) and they come within 10 feet of my desk she goes insane and lunges at them. It’s gotten to the point where instead of anchoring her leash to the chair I had to put a hook on my desk.

Lori is not only smart, but protective. I can’t say she works wonders to make customers feel welcome though..

7. Where do you get your news from?

The internet/ everyday life. It’s really bad, but I can’t stand to watch the news these days. It makes me way too sad.

8. What is something crazy you’ve always wanted to do but never have?

Ooh! Travel somewhere exotic without worrying. I am so neurotic about travel.

9. What was your favorite toy growing up?

Pretty much anything art related. (You would think that I would be able to draw something that actually resembles– ANYTHING). Barbie stuff was always cool too. Interesting how I would up minoring in Women’s Studies in University.. haha.

10. What recipe have you been dying to try but haven’t yet?

Alll the cupcake recipes I have pinned on Pinterest.. some day!

11. What are your goals for your blog?

Easy- be a more consistent blogger!

As far as goals go.. I am going to start back at counting from one for the new year. AND I’m not going to bother recapping my last goals, because it’s been waaay too long.

Fitnasty for Life
I’m going to keep it simple for my first week back:
1.) Drink at least 100 oz water daily
2.) Track EVERYTHING
3.) Get back to the gym at least 2 mornings this week.
4.) Become BFF’s with my day planner- this week is another and I don’t want to forget any appointments.

Lastly, WordPress just informed me that today marks my one year anniversary of starting this blog! Woohoo! I can’t say that I have kept this blog up like I wanted to, but I can say THANK YOU to all the amazing friends that I have made over the course of the last year. I may not update often, but I still enjoy following along on everyone else’s adventures 🙂

Weekend Recap.. X3

Hey Everyone.. sorry I went MIA once again. Funny how life gets in the way of blogging 🙂

The title of this post is pretty misleading, I am only going to recap one weekend. The weekend of the 16th, it was fun and I want make sure I remember it!

Sami's Shenanigans

Dirty Girl 5k- 2013

This was the second year that I participated in the event, and it was very different but still lots of fun. I think the changes were mainly due to safety. Little E almost died last year.. and I am not even exaggerating. She’s tiny and a larger (normal sized? lol) woman bounced next to her on one of the huge inflatables and E almost flew off the side. I actually hurt my ankle pretty badly on one of the rope obstacles too. This year was more regulated,  less muddy and ropey, but there were significantly fewer injuries too.

Did I mention the water was FREEZING?

I pushed myself and did ALL the obstacles (I don’t do heights..) so I was pretty proud of that as well :). It helped that I run with a couple coworkers and a couple more came to cheer us on.

After the race we got cleaned up and headed over to another friends baby shower. It was a co-ed shower, so I enjoyed the fact that the guys had to suffer too. (Can you tell I’m not big on showers?). I enjoy giving gifts.. but they dumb games wear on me a little. This particular shower had some interesting games though. T won “pin the sperm on the egg” and J won the guess the belly circumference one.. T let me pick the gift and I got a $20 Micheal’s gift card though. Woo! lol

Cutest little photobomber around 🙂

On Sunday morning we went on a horseback ride at one of the venues that T and I looked at. The place is AMAZING, but it’s tucked back on a dirt road and about 90 minutes out of town so we ruled it out.

photo-1

The horses we rode were BEAUTIFUL and really sweet. I wanted to steal the girl I rode.

T rode a BEAST of a horse..

photo-5

The guide holding him is my height (5’9)..

photo-3 photo-2

My dad got to ride his favorite kind of horse too 🙂

Our guide was pretty awesome too. He gave us the Arizona tourist spiel, and even though we are local it was cool to hear. Mainly it was awesome to just be out in the desert, enjoying the breeze and doing nothing at all.

photo-6

There are all kinds of arrowheads, hieroglyphics and old Indian hide outs around the area.

The place we went has a old time town set up (read more here). So we stopped there and had lunch and played games. There was horseshoes, hatchet throwing, shooting, archery, roping, and a few others.

What’s in ‘Yo Fridge Linkup

Soo.. I saw this last week and thought it was a fun idea. Everyone is supposed to post a picture of their fridge and describe what’s in it. I am super later to the party, but don’t mind that. It’s been a hell of a week, but more on that later. Also don’t mind the fact that I am having issues with the button to link up…

But without further ado
