Weigh in Wednesday

Well.. at least I am averaging ONE post per week? Ha!

Work + wedding planning + family stuff is officially on a new level of intense. Just when I think work can’t get any busier- it does! I think that I need to quit talking about it already.

Anyway.. diving right in to some link ups:

Pretty Strong Medicine
I don’t have a picture, but my weight this morning was
{225.8}
NOT the number that I was looking for, but I wasn’t all the surprised. Saturday was an all out party for a friend’s 30th birthday and there was a lot of drinking involved. I’m angry with myself for losing sight of my goals, but it was also good because it was a nice little slap in the face. Nothing like a huge gain to make you realize that “Hey! That wasn’t very healthy!”
Other than Saturday night I have been eating pretty well, so I think a lot of it is water weight thankfully.. I can’t wait to work my butt of this week so that I can see a better number NEXT week!
Soo.. on to the “official” goals/ goal recap:
Fitnasty for Life
1.) Track EVERY bite, EVERY day. No more justifications for eating crappy food either.
2.) Get to the gym a minimum of three days this week.
3.) Drink 100oz of water per day, EVERYDAY!
Fail! I’m keeping these until I get better at them (sorry for the repetitive posts..). I need to seriously work on the justifying (hello 30th birthday) and the gym time.
As far as my plan of action of how to improve?
I bought 10 classes to a women’s “boxing” gym- and once I start going they all have to be used within 30 days. This means that I will need to be there a minimum of 2x per week. I bought the deal for the same friend who just turned 30, so I have some built in accountability there. The other huge plus is the fact that it is literally on my way home and I have to schedule appointments to go. (It’s a 45 minute circuit “class”). I’m really gonna have a hard time blowing this off/justifying just going home. HA!

I’m planning on writing a wedding planning progress post.. so be on the look out for that soon. Sorry for all the dull diet stuff!
I hope everyone has a great second half of the week!!!

Catching Up Part ll

To follow up my last post.. here is New Year’s through now in (mostly) pictures.

photo-24 (2)

We planned on a nice quiet New Year’s in, playing Uno on the couch, to be exact. That’s what we did last year and it was surprisingly fun. One of our friends was having a get together though, so we agreed to stop by there for a bit and say hi. Our friend’s new roommate is from CA where fireworks aren’t allowed.. so of course we had to show him how NYE works in Phoenix. We started with sparklers and as you can probably predict we felt like we had to stay for the midnight finale. Our “quiet night in” ended with us closing down the bar behind J’s house at 3am. Oopsie.. ha!

photo (2)

Finale was literally this x6.. good times.

In mid January J told me about a painting class that he had found online that was a great deal. As in FREE + they gave us a ton of wine goodies + apron to promote/celebrate the launch of a new season of Cougar Town. J and I rounded up a bunch of friends + coworkers and made a bit of a party out of it.

Can you tell who is related?

Blurry as heck picture of my “masterpiece”.. Please refrain from laughing 😉

After all that fun I followed up January with a month long cold from HELL. SO glad that’s over!

“The Creeper”.

There was lots of tabloid reading in the bathtub and that was about it other than the bare necessities for work.

Tennyson is only friendly when I’m in the bath tub. Weirdest cat around.

He enjoys tea, too. Apparently.

Other than trying to survive the cold of 2014 (I’m a little dramatic.. maybe) + working — most of my spare time was spent planning my Grandpa’s 90th birthday.

He’s been in business for 70+ years, he has a large family and he’s just all around awesome so there were a tonnn of people at his party. I think 100+ showed up.

My favorite picture of the day. They have been friends for 60+ years.

The end of February/ the beginning of March brought a huge increase in business.. like 3X. It’s hectic, but I love it so much.

Other than work, it seems everyone I know was born in February, so there were lotssss of birthdays to attend.

My favorite “selfie” ever.

T and I had a great Valentine’s day evening together. We got with the wedding photographer and finalized things and then he took me out for a really nice dinner.

(No pictures, because I suck).

I surprised him and told him that I am going to be taking his last name. (I was seriously on the fence).

Not my future last name, but I made something similar to this and wrapped it up for him to open. 🙂

J was kind enough to take me as his date for this quarter’s Cactus League event.

The venue was gorgeous, as always :-).

Annd this time I’m not making any promises as to when I will be back. I have been pre-writing, so it should be soon. But then again, every time that I say that it never is haha.

Catching Up

Hey everyone, it’s been a long time. Sorry about that! As usual life got in the way of posting. Don’t worry though, it’s been mostly fun things (along with a few more complicated thing).

Let’s do a quick catch up in pictures, shall we?

Christmas was here (who knew??)

photo (2)

Me and my favorite coworker, Lily. (who has since quit, sad face).

photo-1 (2)

The guys built a tire x-mas tree. Yeah, I work in a “junk yard”. Whatever, we can be creative if we want!

photo-2 (2)

I hosted an ugly sweater contest. Wait.. I mean a ugly/cute sweater contest. Patsy wanted to wear “the adorable sweater” she made in 1991. These were the winners. We had a penguin too?

photo-3 (2)

This is my manager..

photo-4 (2)

And this is my 50+ year old coworkers screensaver.

I’m sorry… I HATE twilight. I honestly think that it is the worst excuse at a novel ever written. (This is obviously my opinion, sorry if I offend anyone). I will say that I have a hard time taking her seriously though. Also please note the jar on the desk. I made all my coworkers goodie jars. (and had the intention of writing about it, silly me ;-)). The jars included Christmas socks, lotion, hand sanitizer, lip gloss nail polish and mini lint rollers (from Lorelei).

I had a super blessed Christmas over at my parent’s home.

I prepared my first ever (on my own) Christmas dinner

J’s wrapping/stickers were the best 🙂 He also got me the adorable apron that I am wearing in the previous set of pictures.

D and I got each other the same teacup set… bff much? Or maybe we just shop together too often?

I ran out of time to decorate, so mini tree it was. Bonus points to whoever can spot the reindeer imposter..

I FINALLY got the floating shelves hung (only six months in the making).

All of the snowmen and Santa/the reindeer are from my Grandma’s Christmas decoration collection

And to top off an awesome holiday season? I got to spend an entire week with my best friend ever (really my sister). We got started on wedding planning (for real) so I will have some posts up on that soon.

I’ve been pre-writing posts, so I’m back.. for real.

Five on Friday!

As usual.. sorry for the long lapse. Life happens… and it also happens that everyone I’ve ever met in my life is apparently born at the end of January/ early February.

Onward to Five on Friday!

1.) I had a really goofy schedule today and I ended up stopping by my parents house on my way to work. This little guy was all by himself, so I brought him in to the office with me.

photophoto-1

Lori is gonna be PISSED when she figures out that she had to stay home and Mo was in her territory! haha!

2.) As I mentioned- I stopped at my parents house on my way into the office. When I moved out of my parents house (15ish months ago) I purposely left some clothes behind. I figured I have plenty and their house is midway to work + I spend a fair amount of time there so I may need an extra outfit at some point. (This has saved me a few times!) Unfortunately I have taken clothes.. but not brought them back. When I got to my parents I found a shirt that I could wear to work, but no pants. I was pretty desperate so I went and looked through so old clothes that I had in the extra bedroom.  I found a pair of brand new American Eagle jeans (tags still on!) that had some how made it down there. The only way I can think that they made them down was that they were a gift that was too small and I couldn’t return them. BUT they fit now!! Woohoo FREE new jeans!!

3.) I woke up this morning to a super overcast day.. Grandpa’s party is tomorrow and it’s OUTSIDE.. insert freak out. We have 100+ RSVPed too, so it’s not like we can really just move it inside to the house.

photo-2

LOVE Arizona sunsets..

I just took the above picture a few minutes ago. I think the clouds are breaking up! Grandpa is SO EXCITED for his party, and I am so excited for him. Fingers crossed everything is perfect tomorrow.

4.) One of the guy’s recovered the service truck! The jerks who stole it took a lot of the expensive unique parts that it had on it off.. but it’s back! I really didn’t think that anything would come back. I also love that it was an employee who found it… yay for watchful eyes at Circle K!

5.) This devil of a cold is finally leaving my system! I can’t remember the last time that I’ve been sick for this long… 3.5 weeks and counting. My mom told me that the nurse at her doctors office told her that it’s been hanging around for a month on average. Ick! That is so not okay stupid cold germs!

Happy weekend friends! I hope that it’s a great one!

Decisons, decisions… Wedding Date and Venue Are Set!

Happy Tuesday everyone!! This week has flown by so far, and I sure hope that we can continue this trend.. 🙂

I wrote last night that I had finally had some wedding news.. I mailed in a deposit check yesterday so I figured it’s quite real and I should post an update. Of course 45 minutes after I published that the coordinator (Tamara) e-mailed me and asked me whether or not I wanted to change the date..

I’d say there are two big decisions to make in early wedding planning… venue and date. Relatively easy, right? Not if you’re me apparently! ha!

The last time I posted about the venue I thought I had everything all decided. T and I originally wanted a September wedding, but everyone in their Mother kept telling us that it would be too hot. So after much debate we decided to “move” (nothing was really committed to it) our wedding date from September 20th, 2014 to October 4th, 2014. It’s only a week, but it made everyone happy so whatever.

I waited a week before I contacted our top wedding venue choice to ask about the date. In the time I was waiting I started to question the venue and whether or not I wanted to do something more formal. (T indulges me and goes along on whatever I want wedding wise as long as he can have his one thing). When I was questioning things we went out and looked at three more venues..

The first place was pretty far out (45 minutes) but it was amazing! T and I both loved it.

It was originally built as a huge custom home, but when the housing market bottomed out here it went back to the bank as a foreclosure. The current owner bought it and made a bunch of changes and turned it into the wedding venue it is now. The venue was a little more than we wanted to spend and a little further away than we would have preferred, but it was so homey and beautiful!

Pagota where the ceremony would be (look at the mountains!).

Reception area.

After we walked though everything I asked what dates she had available.. and she flipped straight to 2015! I understand why they are booked out, but dang it! (I was also confused why she didn’t mention that they didn’t have any 2014 spaces left, because it was in my e-mail!)

The first of the other two places we looked at was terrible.. we didn’t even get out of the car haha. The second was pretty, but waaayy too formal for us. It was priced formally too!

Sooo…. I worried about it and worried about it and then decided to just go back to our original date (9/20) at Pioneer.

We told our families 2 days ago and I put the deposit check in the mail. T’s mom was still mad that it was in September, but his Dad told us it’s going to be a beautiful day and we shouldn’t worry about it.

So deposit was in the mail, families told and a decision was made! I felt so relieved lol.

Annnnd then Tamara e-mailed me and told me that October 18th, 2014 had opened up.

At a glance it all seemed to work out perfect! The lawn will be more established and it will have a few more weeks to cool off.. but before I said yes I decided to check the Farmer’s Almanac. There are supposed to be showers that weekend..

Of course I started to worry again.. I asked T what he thought but he was so tired from work that he was falling asleep at like 7:30. I know he was trying to care, but he just wants a damn date. (and I don’t blame him!)

If it does rain we have a back up plan for the ceremony and reception space, but I worry about getting them decorated in time..

(Can you see the trend here? HINT- I worry. a lot.)

Tamara wanted an answer that night (another bride wanted whichever date I didn’t), but I asked if I could e-mail her first thing in the morning and she said yes.

I talked to the BFF and thought about it and I don’t think the date would have opened if it weren’t meant to be.. Do you think I did the right thing??

Yes, I know I sound like a total lunatic. I also know that things won’t go perfectly, but I also don’t want to be set up for trouble!

If you’re married- What’s the one thing you would change about your wedding if you could?

If you’re single and plan on getting married- What is the one thing you want in your wedding and won’t settle for?

If you’re single (or not) and you don’t plan on getting married- Congratulations! You’re saving yourself a lot of stress! haha!

Until tomorrow.. 🙂

Weekend Recap.. On a MONDAY!

Okay, it may be Monday evening.. but at least this weekend recap is on the correct day! haha

Last weekend was another “chill” weekend and I couldn’t appreciate it more. I really think I’m a bear or something.. once it’s under 60 degrees I just want to hibernate.

T and I spent time together on Friday evening and it was awesome. We had fun just doing nothing and laughing..love moments when we aren’t rushing to the next appointment/chore. T had to work Saturday and Sunday so I extra appreciated the time. When we were in school together he worked every weekend for 6 years in a row.. now he only has to work once a month and I hate it when it’s his turn. It’s amazing how fast you can get spoiled!

We went and did some wedding stuff on Thursday (more about that tomorrow) so we sat down and FINALLY made some decisions on that front. Saturday I spent the entire day in my PJs catching up on work stuff.. it feels so good to be ahead of the game again.

On Sunday we were supposed to run the Hot Chocolate Run.. I was pretty much recovered from my cold, but T was still battling it. I feel like a chunp for skipping it, but it was in the 40s, we were still coughing, and I couldn’t sleep the night before. I think I finally fell asleep 90 minutes before I should have gotten up. With all that being said + the fact that we were going to have to skip everything after the run to get T to work in time I made the sleep induced decision to skip it. Excuses, excuses..

After work we headed out to T’s sister’s home to celebrate a late Thanksgiving and my day improved drastically.

PicMonkey Collage

Probably the least flattering pics I have posted on this blog yet.. Please ignore my cold medicine haze. I promise I was past the contagious stage and cuddled Maddy safely 🙂

I spent a good portion of the evening hanging with Maddy.. I am so freaking in love with this little girl. I hope that I have a baby as laid back as she is.. she hardly cried the entire night and she was totally off her schedule.

My lovely sis-in-law is busy growing our next niece/ nephew. The gender reveal party is January 10th.. I can’t wait to find out what she’s having :). Much to T’s chagrin my prediction is a boy.. Me and Luke’s (bro-in-law) brother were the only ones to predict correctly that Maddy was going to be a girl. So we shall see I guess.

How was your weekend? Great I hope!

Weekend Recap.. X3

Hey Everyone.. sorry I went MIA once again. Funny how life gets in the way of blogging 🙂

The title of this post is pretty misleading, I am only going to recap one weekend. The weekend of the 16th, it was fun and I want make sure I remember it!

Dirty Girl 5k- 2013

This was the second year that I participated in the event, and it was very different but still lots of fun. I think the changes were mainly due to safety. Little E almost died last year.. and I am not even exaggerating. She’s tiny and a larger (normal sized? lol) woman bounced next to her on one of the huge inflatables and E almost flew off the side. I actually hurt my ankle pretty badly on one of the rope obstacles too. This year was more regulated,  less muddy and ropey, but there were significantly fewer injuries too.

Did I mention the water was FREEZING?

I pushed myself and did ALL the obstacles (I don’t do heights..) so I was pretty proud of that as well :). It helped that I run with a couple coworkers and a couple more came to cheer us on.

After the race we got cleaned up and headed over to another friends baby shower. It was a co-ed shower, so I enjoyed the fact that the guys had to suffer too. (Can you tell I’m not big on showers?). I enjoy giving gifts.. but they dumb games wear on me a little. This particular shower had some interesting games though. T won “pin the sperm on the egg” and J won the guess the belly circumference one.. T let me pick the gift and I got a $20 Micheal’s gift card though. Woo! lol

Cutest little photobomber around 🙂

On Sunday morning we went on a horseback ride at one of the venues that T and I looked at. The place is AMAZING, but it’s tucked back on a dirt road and about 90 minutes out of town so we ruled it out.

photo-1

The horses we rode were BEAUTIFUL and really sweet. I wanted to steal the girl I rode.

T rode a BEAST of a horse..

photo-5

The guide holding him is my height (5’9)..

photo-3 photo-2

My dad got to ride his favorite kind of horse too 🙂

Our guide was pretty awesome too. He gave us the Arizona tourist spiel, and even though we are local it was cool to hear. Mainly it was awesome to just be out in the desert, enjoying the breeze and doing nothing at all.

photo-6

There are all kinds of arrowheads, hieroglyphics and old Indian hide outs around the area.

The place we went has a old time town set up (read more here). So we stopped there and had lunch and played games. There was horseshoes, hatchet throwing, shooting, archery, roping, and a few others.
